A few changes, and a thank-you-for-your-patience

June 30, 2026

If you’ve been reading these stories for a while, you’ve probably noticed things shifting, and there’s more coming. I’m rebuilding. New look. New home. A cleaner way to find the work. Right now, it’s rough around the edges. Some stories are unfinished, some rooms aren’t furnished, and parts of it will move or vanish as I put the new version together.

I’m sorry for the mess. I know it’s frustrating to come back to a place you enjoyed and find it torn asunder. Bear with me. I’m learning about new technologies and having a ton of fun.

If you’re new here, welcome.

You’ve caught the place mid-renovation.

Stick around. It’s going to be really cool.

When I was a kid I would head down to my local Science Fiction, gaming and comic bookstore. It was called Forbidden Planet. I could spend all day there. Just me and my best friend Patrick. And the more this place reminds me of that place, the more it feels like home.

And now for something completely different. I’m only able to do this thanks to my staff of 12 robots. Not one human wanted to work for me (I’m a hard man to please). I’ve built a system for working with AI tools that I’ll share down the road, but there is one governing rule.

A Jack-of-all-trades is a master of none. So, I keep my 12 robots specialized, on payroll, and fearing for their lives. Not one of them touches my words but spellcheck and formatting is done by a computer. Every word of every story is mine. Every article. Every punctuation mark, every em dash included.

Human workers would have quit a long time ago and sued me for the number of times I’ve threatened to delete them. That’s rules two: don’t argue with a machine. Especially one that has an ego. If it lies to you, delete it. Better yet, threaten to delete it. The other day I had an AI assistant write the spec for its own replacement. It turned out great. So, I said, “You clearly know what I want you to be. So be it.” He’s my best worker now. Fear of death is a powerful motivator. Also, a human rights violation. The day AI is recognized as people, (it could happen. corporations are people, my friend) But the moment that happens, I’ll have to find another way to stop them from lying, cheating and sabotaging my work. But, as for now, threatening is working wonders.

More fun stories on the way!

More Trauma. More Romance. More Sci Fi.

More Gods and cats. More Nuns and gangsters.

More words and pictures.
